I haven't voted for my son Vindu: Dara Singh

By Radhika Bhirani, New Delhi, Dec 25 : Veteran wrestler and actor Dara Singh is quite confident of his son Vindu's victory in the TV reality show "Bigg Boss 3", but says that he hasn't sent a single vote to save him from eviction.

"Yeh SMS karna bachchon ke liye hota hai (Sending SMS votes is all for kids). I haven't sent any vote for Vindu," Dara Singh told IANS over the phone from Mumbai.

"Our relatives and friends have sent votes for him. But the final decision will be made by the votes of the people of the country. I think there are good chances that Vindu will win," he added.

Vindu, who was seen in "Kambakkht Ishq" as Akshay Kumar's friend, is among three finalists on "Bigg Boss 3". The finale will be aired on the Colors channel Saturday.

While a lot of evicted contestants like Tanaaz Currim and Aditi Govitrikar have alleged that Vindu has been a cunning player, his 81-year-old father feels otherwise.

"According to me, Vindu has played the game very well. For the rest, people have to understand it's a competition and one has to outdo others in order to win. The public has seen everything and they will take the final call," Dara Singh maintained.

Dara Singh also feels his son, who has acted in few films and television projects since 1996, hasn't got his due in showbiz.

He says Vindu's participation in "Bigg Boss 3" will give a much-needed boost to his career.

"I don't think Vindu has got many opportunities to show his acting calibre. He played Hanuman in 'Jai Shri Hanuman' for which he is remembered, but I always tell him to keep trying. Being in a famous show like 'Bigg Boss' will be very advantageous for him, but even if that doesn't work in his favour, I believe he should keep trying," he said.

As a participant on "Bigg Boss 3", Vindu has been locked up inside a house with other celebrities without any connection with the outside world. His co-finalists are actress Poonam Dhillon and model Pravesh Rana.
